Kloey's First Christmas
Ok....so there is a lot of catching up to do with this blog since Kloey is 15 weeks old already! She had a wonderful Christmas thanks to all her family and friends.
Jason was able to be home for Christmas morning but had to rush off to work. My parents and sister were in town for the holiday.

Surfboards and Belly Casting
Viewer beware....some photos below show a lot more than a pregnant girl in an outfit. Don't worry, no nudity, just a forewarning to not be in shock if you wish to view. ;)
First off, decorating the baby's room never seems to be complete or maybe we just enjoy doing it. We had some surfboard wallies (aka wallpaper) and placed them on the wall above the closet. It took them about 3 times to finally stick - not sure if it was the heat or surface of the wall but we finally succumbed to using glue. And, no, we have no idea if they will ever come off when we move out.
So I've always thought it was a neat idea to make a belly cast when you're pregnant to remember the moment. I found an at home kit online the other day so I thought, why not?
Jason was the applicator while I was the model. It was messy but that made it more fun. It dried very quickly so the whole process took about 30 minutes. Once the cast completely dries in about 2 days I can put a sealant on it, sand it then paint it.
By the way, I am 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant today and in this photo.
Please submit ideas in the comment section on how I should paint it!

Apartment Gardening
Living in an apartment definitely has it's perks....maintenance is taken care of, proximity to the city with things to do and lots of friendly neighbors. But of course, there is no yard to play in. So I decided to start a little greenery on the balcony. It's very amateur, but it's a start.
Next step will be to get some chairs to sit outside on. It's still 100F everyday so outside sitting is very limiting, but hopefully in the Autumn the weather will cool off enough to enjoy more outdoor time. It's strange to fight cabin fever in the middle of summer!
Less then 2 weeks this blog will probably be filled with baby pictures!

Ok, so this is a strange one, but it's the view I see everyday when I'm working at the computer so I thought I'd share.

18 days and counting
So it's only 18 days till my due date.....but only the baby knows when he/she will arrive. Jason is in Columbus, Ohio for a week for NetJets training, so I'm hoping the baby will not come too early. We've been busy with more projects, working on the business and trying to fit in as much 'us' time as possible because we know our lives are about to change dramatically.
We have a set of table and chairs that my mom found at a garage sale and gave to my oldest sister Diane, who then passed it to Christine who then passed it to me. It's held up pretty well for a small kitchen table so we decided to paint it white. The top is tile so we'd like to change it out to a different color eventually.
My friends in our complex surprised me with a baby shower last Sunday night. They have been coming to my exercise classes and were so nice to surprise me. They got in touch with Jason and had him plan to take me out to dinner. I thought something was up because we went to a Mexican place and he doesn't like Mexican food, but I had no idea it was them.
And it seems I can't write on the blog without including Malua. I think this is her protesting or at least begging that we don't bring a baby home soon.

Baby's Room
Jason and I have pretty much finished the baby's room. It's been a lot of fun and laughter getting everything organized. And of course Malua is right by our side along the way. She seems to be poking her head into every photo!
We placed 2 shelves above the chest of drawers.
I've always wanted to have a collage of family photographs and thought the baby needed to know who all his/her relatives and friends are.
We found a small table to place under the window and put toys in buckets underneath. Sounds like a good plan for organization but who knows how long it will stay that way. This is Jason "the builder" putting the table together with his assistant Malua.
And the finished result....
Ok....drum roll please. No really, I know it's only a room but I've never had this much fun with decorating before. I guess some people could call it 'nesting'...I just prefer to think I'm excited to meet the newest Drewsen in just about 1 month.

5 weeks till Baby Drewsen
I can't believe it....only 5 weeks till our lives completely change. There is a lot of excitement and anticipation in the air. I even think Malua has an idea that something funny is going on.
Thanks to many generous family and friends we have been busy putting the baby's room together from the crib to the high chair and the fun toys.

Today we are expecting a chair to arrive...the last major piece of the baby's room. Time has flown and soon we will be saying how quickly the baby is growing.
